Excellent        Rating:

This book gave me a greater love for the Bible. Not a superstitious word game, but a deep and beautiful diet of spiritual food.

Great resource        Rating:

This book is a great resource for any library. It's not for the faint of heart, though. Fee & Stuart definitely write for students, i.e. for those who really want to explore the depths of Bible study...not just Bible reading. However, those who are interested in Bible reading will find the book insightful, as well.

excellent resource        Rating:

This book is a wonderful guide to studying the Bible from a solidly evangelical perspective. Fee and Stuart give step by step instructions, explain common stumbling blocks and emphasize the need for informed interpretation, which the evangelical Church desperately needs.

The discussion/comparison of translations is especially helpful for the reader who doesn't know where to start. The recommended commentaries in the back are another invaluable guide.

A word about the TNIV. Please ignore all the alarmist talk about feminist influence...there were a number of known complementarians on the board. The TNIV, as the authors claim, is as trustworthy and solid a version that you will find. It is a shame that this translation has been blacklisted for no substantive reason.

A great introduction        Rating:

Fee and Stuart's "How to Read the Bible for All Its Worth" is an excellent introduction to the fine art of Bible reading and criticism*. Easy to read and understand, this title will benefit anyone who desires to approach the Bible from a fresh perspective (one rarely presented in churches or study groups).

* Note that criticism in this context implies the academic definition of examination, analysis, and evaluation.

Easy Read        Rating:

It's easy reading and it's fast paced, which is not what I anticipated. Be sure to have your Bible handy because they frequently reference verses and do not include them in the text. I'm enjoying the book, and I think it's enhanced my understanding of the Bible.

Be aware that if you use this book as a text for a class, the old version is very different than this new version, so you will not pass the tests based on the book if you use the old version.
