If I could rate this book 6 stars I would. IT'S THAT GOOD!        Rating:

Ladies, if you are looking for something for the man in your life--Get them this book! The adventures and laughter written on the pages of Wild Men Wild Alaska are sure to entertain and inspire men of all ages. One warning however, after reading this book your husband may be ready to go tackle that Bear hiding in the woods!

You betcha! Alaska in the raw!        Rating:

Some of the most heart touching stories you will ever read, about wild and superbly beautiful Alaska. Wild Men, Wild Alaska is a Bonanza revealing the very heart of the innermost cravings buried in modern man, the glory of Creation, and the intricate interplay between scores of bear, moose, caribou, wolves, and other animals, and the thrill of legitimate hunting and fishing. Some stories will make you weep, such as 'Run, Baby Run,' and 'A Beauty To Lose' about Sharon, his wife. Others will make you laugh. From plane crash to snarling grizzlies, to catching marvelous salmon and other Alaskan fish, to taking famous characters hunting or fishing, or visiting with Rocky, the book is riveting. This includes such men as Dave Dravecky, President Bush Senior, pro ball players, millionaires, and ordinary folks like us. Some say this is the best book they have ever read, (and it is followed by his new book that is also facinating, Wild Men, Wild Alaska 11). Franklin Graham, Rocky's dear friend, and often Alaskan companion, loves it, an so will you. Brilliantly written with sparkling narrative.

Oh yes, this review is by his Father, Floyd C. McElveen.

You will read this book in total amazement!        Rating:

Wild Men Wild Alaska and it's sequel Wild Men Wild Alaska II are well written true adventure journals! One courageous experience after another. True passion and respect for life! Rocky transports you to a place that is totally unperdictable. As you read you feel how charged these men are and you are right there with them. He takes you there. At times, as I was reading, I felt my heart racing, or aching. Vivid illustrations! You will not be able to put this book down. You will close your eyes and see Rocky's Alaska with all it's wonder and beauty.

This is a must read!

One of my all time favorite books        Rating:

I have been in the music business over 35 years so I have traveled a lot by tour bus and airplane.
One of my passions is reading. I go through cycles where I read fiction then I turn to non fiction.
My favorite book of all time is PILLARS OF THE EARTH BY KEN FOLLETT. It is a great novel. I always have a book waiting to read when I am about 1/2 way thru the one I might be reading.
For my 60th birthday I went to Rocky's camp to fish. OH MY GOODNESS. It was the most incredible fishing I have ever done. I am not a hunter but there I got meet some hunters and enjoy talking with them.
I received this book for a gift. When I started reading it I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN. The only disappointing thing about it to me was it wasn't long enough. I loved the true stories of the different adventures in Alaska. I went back this summer and it was so awesome. No phones, no TV's no email and no text messages.
I have ordered the new book and can't wait to read it. I have two books waiting to read but it will go to the front of the list as soon as I get it.
Rocky and his family are awesome Christian people. After you read the book's I would recommend a trip for the experience of a lifetime in fishing, hunting & food. This is simple and awesome book.
