Product Description

Do you feel guilty about not enjoying

personal Bible study? Ever wonder how

some people can percolate with enthusiasm

over the same passages that leaves

you unmoved? Father and son authors

Howard and Bill Hendricks believe

practicing effective inductive Bible

study methods can make the difference.

After taking Howard’s course at Dallas

Theological Seminary, Chuck Swindoll

said, “What a difference it would make

if all God’s people could get hold of

the techniques and principles necessary

for the cultivation of their own spiritual

nourishment.”

Living by the Book: The Art and Science of Reading the Bible        Rating:

I had 1st Edition of the book (hard cover). I loved the book so much, I ordered new edition to find out some surprises; the cover looks good (vs plain red cover w/o wrap-around, missing), fresh example and new pictures (instead free and sketch or caricature drawings), contents stay almost same but better editing, printing, paper and better feels (high-tech?).
Father and Son (Hendricks-es) authored. When a son succeeded his father's business, the business got to be good.
When I read one hundred year old inspirational books with my running nose, I do believe His Word stays same, remains forever.
I have to mention about this book's good References & Additional Resources. I bought 3 good books thanks to Hendricks'.

1. How to Read and Better by Franklin J. Agardy
2. How to Read Better and Faster by Norman Lewis
3. How to Read a Book by Mortimer Adler and Charles Van Doren

You know what to do . . . Lest is up to you.

Good book for learning how to study the bible        Rating:

Really enjoyed reading this book. I had to read it for a biblical interpretation class. Has a wealth of information and it is an easy read for the non-biblical scholar. It explained biblical genre in a simple layman's language. Would recommend this book to anyone who wants to dig deeper into the Word of God. It is one of the books that I am keeping in my personal biblical resource library.

A Good Place to Start        Rating:

Dr. Hendricks has a wealth of knowledge not only for studying the Bible, but for teaching students how to study the Bible. This book begins very basic. Those with little to no Biblical training will get a lot out of the beginning chapters. Readers with a background in literary study of any kind will find the first half a good review and the second half a refreshing look at how to study the Bible accurately and in context.

Great concepts        Rating:

This book tells you how to study the Bible well so that you can learn things, apply them to your life, and bring glory to God. I recommend it a lot.
